Just stay on that forum. Also search in it to see similar issues. There are a lot of knowledgeable people in the forum that can help you diagnose your issue. OOPS, just saw you are in the wrong forum. Go down to the 6.0 diesel forum. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum107/

Post your issues there.

My 1990 Ford f250 XLT Lariat with a 5.8-liter engine and automatic transmission appears to be idling too fast when I start it up. It takes a long time to warm up and settle down. Then when I first apply my foot to the gas peddle when in gear, (without revving it up) it hesitates for a second and usually stalls. Once I am on the road, I can keep it going if I don't let it fall back to idle speed or come to a full stop. To avoid that I have to use both feet, one for the brake and one for the gas to keep it idling a little higher, before taking off from a full stop. I did remove the IAC valve to clean it, but it still continues to act up. Since I only drive it during the summer months for about 1500 miles to my cabin and back it has fairly low mileage and a very clean engine. The rest of the year I store it on my driveway, starting it up every couple of weeks. Any ideas what may be causing this to happen, and how to fix it? thanks
