AC relay??

1997 f150 base model 4.6 I found the fuse (good) by my left foot 15a position 5. The clutch is not pulling in. I found it odd that there is no relay for the clutch. Later years do have one. Can someone confirm this? Next step is to jump out the low side switch I hope it is bad. Then the high side. If they both check good time to power probe clutch. Any other ideas are welcomed.

Yeah, the first couple of years of that generation of F150 didn't use a relay, the clutch was controlled by the series circuit of F05>mode switch>high pressure switch>low pressure switch>clutch. All you have to do is go along the path with your meter or test light and see where the control voltage gets lost.

Thanks for the fast response. Now do you know where the low side pressure sw. is hiding? I found the low side charge port and the high side port.

It's going to be on top of the accumulator or its adjacent lines.

OK thanks I have followed the line but did not see it. I think you are correct about the accumulator it may be covered up with all the wires from that J-box above it.
Again thanks
