Does anyone have the part number for or from their mid nineties 5.8 speed density ford lightning under hood harness? Or have one of these harness’s from a lightning for sale. TIA I have attached this picture for reference of what I’m looking for I have attached this picture for reference of what I’m looking for
FYI Ford does not put part numbers on parts. They put engineering numbers on parts, which can be used to look up part numbers. I do not have the engineering numbers. Used parts are, naturally, often listed under the engineering numbers.
12A581 = Main under hood harness, does NOT include the injector/sensor harness.
I bet that shop in Texas that converts the old lightning to a coyote would have one there you tube videos show about 25 trucks getting it done .Motor research labs texas
You do not need to change the main harness at all. You need to slightly reconfigure the injector/sensor harness. It is all the same basic parts with a few in slightly different locations.
Assuming you are using an GT40 intake you will need to move the TPS and IAC pigtails in the injector/sensor harness. If you plan to use the Lightning ignition coil mount you will also have to move the connector for the coil and capacitor. Everything else is in the same location.
By move, really all you will need to do is unwrap the harness and literally move the appropriate connectors, possibly lengthen a few, and re-wrap the harness.
Otherwise a regular 95 5.8 harness is plug and play with the components on a Lightning engine.
There will be some slight re-configuration of the coolant hoses. I assume you have the appropriate air intake box and tube, throttle cable, and other Lightning specific parts.

The harness in the truck now has been modified re pinned to run a x3z cobra computer mass airflow as I have a motor in it now with too big of a cam in it for a truck currently. I have acquired a stock lightning motor to replace the big cam motor. I do not need the factory fog light wiring in the harness. I need the under hood harness that will work with the stock lightning engine and stock lightning motor harness and a c3p2 computer
thanks
As stated earlier it would easier to source a standard Speed Density F150 harness. There are subtle differences between that and a Lightning harness. Why pay more for an almost unicorn L harness that still requires mods to work in a non-L F150?
