'96 E350 vacuum line?

I'm working on a '96 E350 that I recently bought. It has a vacuum line that is plugged with a screw. I'm trying to locate where this line is suppose to go. I have not been able to find anything with in the length of hose.

It might be a connection someone added to hook up a vacuum gauge.

From the pic, it looks like where the hose on each side of the 'T' fitting the cuts are jagged and not square like a factory connection would look.

Does the right end of that larger hose go to the brake booster?

Well your right! The cut on the larger vacuum line is not factory, I agree it was placed for hooking up a vacuum gauge. Thanks

A fuel mileage indicator in the dash?
A mechanic is not going to the trouble of adding a tee and a then blocking it off with a screw just to check the vacuum IMO

My guess is someone was troubleshooting a brake problem that is hopefully resolved. Who severs a critical brake vacuum booster line to check engine vacuum? Out of paranoia, I’d get an intact OE grade brake booster line ASAP.

The old analog MPG indicators were just a vacuum gauge. Damped so the needle didn't bounce all around. Had one on my '67 Plymouth Barracuda.

You're right, I don't think a Mechanic would do that but maybe a 'mechanic' would....

It looks long enough that it might get caught in the serpentine belt.

Also, someone might have used that line to suck injector cleaner into the intake.

What’s injector cleaner going to do in the intake?

Tries to take some carbon and gunk off the valves

I remember doing that with Mopar Combustion Chabmber Cleaner and Seafoam. Also clears the area of mosquitoes
