Even before ordering my 2022 F250, I had looked at various caps and bed systems as a potential replacement on my older 2002 F250. I was intrigued by the RSI SmartCap but since this was before the new plant opened in Fort Worth, the only manufacturing facility was in South Africa, there were shortages from Covid, and there weren't many around the US yet, particularly not on Superduties. I was only able to come across a couple of pictures online, and nobody on the forums that I searched had anything to say about them. YouTube only had one video of one on a Superduty.
I took a chance and ordered the SmartCap Evo when I finally got notification that my truck was scheduled for production and surprisingly, the cap took longer to arrive than the truck did. I normally like doing these things myself, but the local dealer was awesome and treated me very well, so I opted to have them assemble and install it. I am VERY pleased with the service and with the cap. It's only been a few days, but we've had and I've driven through some strong rains and live on a long dirt road. There have been no leaks and no visible signs of dust getting in the cap, even though I haven't installed a tailgate seal yet. This cap is really well built and strong; it's the most sturdy cap I've ever seen on a truck and I've used multiple other brands on various trucks.
I'm really happy with it so far, and I'll follow up in the future with updates.
