7.3 PS Rebuild

Greeting All,
Long story but I’ll stay brief. I have a ‘97 7.3 power stroke with unknown miles but the engine is definitely worn. It pulls like a freight train despite how tired it is. There is a pin hole in the passenger side cylinder head next to one of the exhaust manifold ports as well. Recently the check engine light would come on after initial crank and the truck ran like crap. I replaced the ICP sensor but the issue still persists.
Should I throw new injectors at it or just replace the engine all together? (Because of the current condition of the engine) If I do replace the engine, do I swap like for like or plop in a different power plant (460, coyote, Godzilla.)
As of current the truck was a commuter and did not haul or tow anything.

Pin hole leaking what?

Have a scanner? we need to know the CEL code or toss $1000 guesses at your expense.

I prefer like for like unless you have the time, money and resources

I don’t have a good picture of the leak. It’s pretty noticeable sound but I rarely see smoke come out of it

Weird post. But anywho. I would compression check the engine. If compression is acceptable to you I would then proceed.I would not want to throw a bunch of parts, thousands of dollars and weeks worth of time at a engine that burns a gallon of oil every 500 miles and is hard to start under 60 degrees. Is the head cracked? If it is actually a pin hole have it TIG welded. If its cracked, don't know. If I was replacing the engine in my 7.3 OBS powerstroke I would replace it with another 7.3 powerstroke. Unless this is a project truck that you just want to tinker with and have tons of time and tons of money. If thats the case put whatever you want in it.
