When I first start my truck in the mornings and then head out for work it runs great. But when I’m leaving work after truck has set in the sun all day and is hot it has no power at least nothing like it does when I start out in the mornings. It’s a 97 model 7.3 PS.
I have access to a scanner, and it even does it when parked in the shade. It’s while the engine is cool it runs good but after it gets hot it doesn’t, it even has trouble starting after it gets hot I mean it starts but nothing like it does when it’s cool. I don’t know maybe something with the oil?

Now we are getting somewhere. Hard starting hot. I was with knotty at first. Weird issue with ultraviolet sensitivity. Could be injector orings, could be a few things, Im betting your on the right track thinking oil.
I would monitor the truck and see what the duty cycle and oil pressure is. It sounds like an IPR that has worn orings and the hotter oil is not able to build as much pressure. Any smoke? How does the fuel filter look?
There’s no smoke and the fuel filter doesn’t look bad I just replaced it along with all other filters and oil. It’s been doing this for a while now and I’m just now getting around to trying to diagnose and fix it.
Was the filter black?
keep some cold water with you and pour some on the IPR coil and see if it starts hot.
You can also use a can of the canned air. Turn it upside down and spray it and you will get freezing propellant instead of air. Learned than repairing electronics and out of freeze spray.
