79 f250 wheels help

I am buying a 1979 f250 2wd for a project and just want to get a head start on some things The rear rims are split ring I was just wondering where could I find rims that aren’t that split ring type and if they were the same size as the front ones or not and if they are different what size would they be I’m sure this has been asked before but I couldn’t find it

if you want the bone stock look 16x7 repops or 80's vintage stocks Ford wheels are your best bet. . your originals are probably a little narrower but 7's look and fit fine.

Front and rear were the same. if you have 16.5'sditch them and go to 16's.

Well when you go shopping remember that you need 8 on 6 1/2 for a lug pattern. So anything off a 3/4 ton Ford truck up to a 1998. Because in 1999 Ford went metric, for the Super Duty and 8 on 170 MM and will not fit.

Now the Econoline van (E250) had a 8 in 6 1/2 lug pattern clear up to 2014. So 3/4 ton Van rims will also work.

Dodge 2500/3500 rims up to about 2008 should fit also. 16x7 was common from 1994-2003, then i think they went to a 17x7 as the base steel rim. Stay away from the 2003+ wider alum rims if you want to keep it simple, the BS is really deep, like 5.5" and you might need a spacer, at least up front. Depending on where you are, you might be able to find decent OBS take off rim/tire sets for cheap on FB Market.

And there's always the option of buying some used rims you like and getting spacers/adapters to make them fit like stock. Personally, I think some of the newer rims look good on the older trucks. I was able to buy a set of used take offs rims with almost new tires and spacers for my DD cheaper than buying new, lower quality, tires for the rims i had.

Never was a fan of the Dodge wheels, they had too much inset, made a truck look like a scared cat..

Not sure where you are 79greenf250, I'm pretty sure I have a set of stock steels in my shop.. the shipping probably wouldn't be worth what you could find locally though..
