Remove Windshield - How not to break it?
What are the odds of breaking it? Any tips, tricks, suggestions or recommendations?
I've already removed the rails. No rust under them. Just more red Arizona sand. I think I got this before it got too bad.
I plan on a cargo carrier on top. So goal is to stop decay, prevent decay, and try not to make it look like ****. I've seen some of your liner tops. Not sure if I would go that far.
This is the worst rust on the whole truck. Kind of an odd spot.
Be prepared to buy a new windshield because even a pro could make a mistake removing it.
For the roof repair, you are in luck if your Ex is factory Glacier White. You can use the Gloss White Rustoleum oil based enamel. It’s a near perfect match.

Just remove the rust, prime and apply the Rustoleum using a foam roller brush. If you want it to lay smoother, dilute it by 20% per their instructions. Do a minimum of two coats.
It takes a full 30 days to dry to hardness so limit exposure to the elements till it’s fully hardened. It is soft and subject to scuffing till then.
It is extremely durable. I have areas I painted three years ago that look as good as the day they were painted And we have road salt and harsh, cold conditions here that are not gentle on the paint.
I did my front bumper in satin black last year and let it harden before installing it. It went through the winter and is none the worse for wear. With 10K on the bumper so far there’s been no rock chips.
Good Luck,
