Got our new '23 F-350 a month ago, and getting ready to tow our camper for the first time. Took it out for a small loop around town to get mirrors, etc situated. I am using the same Haloview Camera/Monitor setup that I had in my old truck, but the signal keeps blacking out or freezing the image on the monitor. Even though I have the camera mounted on a cable extending it forward on the roof of the trailer, I figured that it was a signal issue. However a buddy of mine with a '21 GMC told me that the newer trucks have lowered the output power from the truck to the trailers light systems because of LED's using less power. GM has apparently admitted this even though Ford and Ram have not. He had a freezing / black screen issue with his system, until he got the Furrion power booster for 2021 and newer vehicles. Has anyone had this issue with their Ford? Was it solved with the power booster?
I have the BT7 in a 2023 f350 and cameras all around the 33' 5th wheel, freezing does occur but very seldom but does happen. I just assume it's due to distance and speed of vehicle. Not that I travel fast, posted limits, but as I understand speed of the vehicle can effect the freeze/dropout.
As far as the power limiting the trailer feed, I'm skeptical of that claim.

I have the MC7109 and side cameras. Just back from a weekend camping trip, and I eliminated most of the blackouts by only using the rear camera on the monitor, instead of having 3 camera views up at one time. However, the screen was frozen for more than half the trip. Speed doesn't seem to matter - it freezes at ~10mph going through traffic circles. I have the Furrion Booster on order, going to give that a try, and if it doesn't help, I'll be looking into a wired system. I already have the Haloview extension antenna on the rear camera - it's a wired antenna that moves it 16' forward on the roof of the trailer. Our trailer is only 26' long, so the distance between camera antenna and monitor antenna should not be an issue.
I agree that the power in the brake cable should not be an issue, however why would a booster be created? And my friend showed me the information on his GMC that he looked up. So while it doesn't make sense, it does seem like there is something to it.
