you put flows on thats fine but you also need to get more air in as well whether its through cold air intake or you just upgrade to a k and N along with the air filter box......its got to be even other wise you wont get much horse power if any

what engine do you have the 4.0 ohv isn't really a hi revving anging therefor i would not recommedn headers i would get a computer chip instead the air intake does make a difference i noticed it. a chip will help with transmission shifting as well as gasmilage and power the only downside is premium fuel. there is also a throttle body that will help as well unless you have the 4.0 sohc that one is big enoughf. and last but not least you can get a calibrated maf they claim those give you 15hp at the whhels but i can not speak from expirence

For the 302, I would get the Mac kit over the K&N. The debate goes on about which is better, but for the money - you will not see a difference between them. I have had both, and didn't see any difference...

I was looking at the mac intakes and i have the money to get it now. Where did you get your mac intake? I would like to add headers also, but will they fit & could I do it without having to take out the engine. I don't have a lot of money but want to find out what I can save up for later.

Unfortunately, you can't get headers for Explorers anymore (the 302 anyways). The only way to get some is to find some used on EBay or something like that.

I would have my exhaust done custom before I bought a catback system. You get more for your money - a custom shop can do an entire setup from the headers back cheaper than a catback system will cost.

On a budget, I would try and get a chip next. That would add more power than others, unless you plan on doing some internal mods to your engine. If you are going that route, then I would get the chip after them.

I have already put a cat back flowmaster kit on about a year ago. I would like to put a chip in but what kind? How much did your super charger cost?
