Take the screw out at the top left. Remove the handles. This will require allen wrenches. Remove the armrest. Two screws. The metal trim is held in place by about 12 clips that pop into holes in the door. Gently pry them out. They do make plastic tools that are wide that make it easier. Save the clips, they are a hot commodity.

Rick
sounds easy enough. I think I’ll put a couple layers of tape around the edges to prevent an accident..
thank you!
That I don't know. On mine (a 1966), one side had the allen wrench. On the other side the PO must have stripped it and then drilled a hole and used a screw. But I do know that the replacement handles use the allen wrench.

check out the handles in my picture and let’s have a big laugh!
this is how I bought it.
It was very easy to remove. The only issue was the arm rest, the screws just kept turning, but it came off. I was able to save most of the clips. I put back new window cranks and door handles.

There's an access panel that screws onto the door. Remove it, you can reach in and retrieve the clips, R&R the door lock remote control, window regulator and etc.
I believe the original handles on the window cranks had Phillips head set screws. I put on the reproduction ones, for a brief time. They have allen head set screws are smaller in diameter, and tended to loosen up on the rather worn splines of the window regulator. I bought an NOS set of window cranks, and they bite into the metal and hold much better.
