Choate Engineering 6.7 PSD

Here's a Choate Engineering reman engine with some improvements to resolve some of the inherent design issues with the 6.7 PSD. Bearing clearances seem to be a big one.

I thought I recognized these guys... I used to get Diesel Power Mag in the mail and it's where I saw this:

https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/19...t-block-build/

So I dug into what "7 and 8 tenths" means...

https://www.yellowbullet.com/threads...2626398/page-2

"Ask anybody who is a machinist...

A "tenth" is .0001" of an inch, one ten-thousandths of an inch.

1/10 of an inch, or 0.1"….that's "a hundred thou", one hundred thousandths of an inch.

When talking to a machinist, and you want .0027" clearance on something, that's "two thou, seven tenths" and he knows exactly what you mean.

Same way in the tool and die industry....that's our lingo."

So 0.0007" to 0.0008" is 17.8 to 20.3 microns if I'm understanding this right...

Great video Troy. Thanks for posting...
