I installed a new water separator and fuel filter on my 2022 F-250 SD. How do I reset the fuel filter reminder? It appears the setting for older model does not work.
Help Please.

 

Are you sure they have a fuel filter change reminder? 17-19 don't have that and I haven't heard of the 20-22 having that either.

 

No, I'm not sure if it can be reset. I do know it has a sensor in the water separator. Therefore, I assume it can be reset.

Yeah, there is no fuel filter reminder to reset.

 

No fuel filter reset on my 22, or any other SD I have seen.

 

Thanks, my reason for asking such question is; I had my vehicle serviced (just an oil change) at Ford and they wanted $474.00 to replace the water separator, fuel filter, and cabin filter. I purchased these items from the local auto parts store, and install them for less than $100. I assumed a reset had to be performed as with the oil change reset. Again, thanks.

 

There is NO reset, ever!

Yep, only the oil reminder gets reset. On the 22's, the air filter minder is also in the dash settings, but I have no idea what it will indicate when the air filter needs changed, or if it needs to be reset or if it does it on it's own. So far I have changed my air filter out yearly regardless.

Also, unless you need to let the dealership to do your routine maintenance, if you are capable of doing it, I would recommend doing it yourself. Not only will you save a ton of money, but you will also know what was actually done, and what was actually used... there have been stories about dealership's doing some weird and "cost effective" things... plus, they like to "find" things that "needs" to be done too... overall, I (and many others) just don't trust them. I guess if you know them personally and have a good relationship with them, it may be a little different, but routine maintenance on these things are so easy to do. Rotating the tires has been the most time consuming and "difficult" part for me, but only because I don't have a lift and am doing one wheel at a time. Greasing the front u-joints are also easy to do, especially if you do it while rotating the tires.

Yea, that's borderline criminal. What is that, $150 in parts and over $300 in labor that will take 45 minutes at a snails pace?

 

Really? My 2015 had it.......can't imagine they would get rid of a feature that reminds people to take it to the shop and give Ford money.....

 

I mean, mine has it.....itll pop up when you forget to plug the sensor back in lolol
