2002 7.3PSD Oil Temp
I have a 2002 f250 7.3psd cc lb srw 3.73 4r100 with 263000 miles. Been doing some data logging in FORSCAN and wanted to confirm the criteria I have been using for driving and towing. I am prepping the truck for a heavy tow(14k) and want to make sure its in top shape. I have attached pictures of two data logs in the truck. Right now I am most concerned with the engine oil temperature. Unloaded at 70mph, 2000rpm and 83 degrees ambient it runs at 208. When I go up to 80mph and 2250rpm engine oil increases to 214. After going back to 70mph it takes 7 minutes and 10 seconds to return to 208. I am concerned that when towing on a long grade I may easily exceed 240 which is the number I have as "pull over and wait". Is this truck running normally or do I need to inspect the cooling system? I have read as my forums on this as I can find and numbers seem to vary greatly on these trucks.
70mph 2k rpm 83 ambient
80 mph 2250 rpm 83 ambient
