Hey everybody new to doing classic cars and a total noobie.
I have a 1955 f100 and I am wondering if all 223 inlines and three on the speed trans bolt to frame or just a certain number of years work for 1955 f100.
I feel like they would be the same, thinking about purchasing one and want to know before I make the purchase.
like I said, total noob here, just starting to learn.
thanks!

Reason: Wrong title
As far as I know, all ford pickups from 53 through 64 mounted the engine, 6 cyl, and V8 by the bellhousing to the crossmember, and a U shaped mount on the engine front, the engines had side mount holes that were used in cars.
53-56 bolt in
57-60 the front mount and timing cover have to be swapped to a 53-56 style
61-64 front mount won't work in a 53-56 application, and again the front cover needs to be changed to a 53-56 style
the reason for the front cover to be changed is 57 and up the covers are stamped steel where the 53-56 were cast iron. In the 53-56 the mount bolts directly to the cast iron front cover
The bell housing side is all the same 53-64 except you can't use a 53-56 bell housing in a 57 and up application as the earlier bell housing doesn't have provisions for the 57-60 slave cyl mounting or the 61-64 clutch z bar mount. The 57-64 bells work fine in a 53-56 application
Thanks for the help! engine number is C3ae-6015-F it’s a 64 223 I believe and it’s going into a 55 frame. I’ll update you when I check out my truck this morning.
