Hi everyone, great site. I have a 250sd 2wd with the factory tow package and 4.10 rear. I would like to mod the truck to get more power but more importantly better mileage. Right now the truck gets about 12mpg no matter what. The only thing I have done to the truck is put in a K+N. I use it for work(carpenter) but mostly to haul dirtbikes, not exactly extreme use...
Also, is a lift a good idea or not for the 2wd?? I would like a little more height and bigger tires. Thanks in advance. KP
We will need just a little more info about your truck to really be able to help much, like what motor do you run? You know some of the little details. I know its a pain but some of the guys are kind of picky about that kind of stuff. I do know that when it comes to lifting there is a lot of guys here that can fill you in.
Have fun..
Thanks for your response, I guess now it looked pretty vague. Anyhow, I run the 5.4 motor and probably will search around for some of the more popular upgrades. Thanks again. KP
So far, about the only thing that you can "feel" would be a chip.
I run the DIABLO in my 5.4 and it was noticable.
I also have the Gibson cat back...... waste of money
KN FIPK.....waste of money
I've done quite a bit of research on 2wd lifts, and sorry to say choices are very plentiful. You can search the forums for 2wd lift posts and find more info, or you can e-mail me if you have any specific questions.
