Safety First - ya heah?

I have a Topside Creeper that I brought with me to my son's home in Georgia...

I need to do some little things on the engine,
so I started putting it together.

then I noticed that one of the wheels is missing from the swivel bracket....
Started to unbolt it, so I could take it with me and find a replacement,

and " Owww, that hurts "

I somehow ended up on bare concrete laying on my side with my left knee barked really raw, and the top of my left foot shows abrasions across the toes, and the middle of the instep.

the RN at the hospital ER said it was good I came in, because my Tetanus shot is decades old..... she cleaned it all up, gave me some bandage materials and said to "take it easy" for a few days.

well, it is now 8 hours since that "safety miss-step" and I hurt like hell...
walking is a super pita..... I won't be doing any useful work for a while.

I always thought "Carrhart" brand clothes were supposed to protect you,
well, it didn't

Thank you for sharing an honest safety lesson learned. It takes a confident man to share his mistakes publicly. Sorry you had to go to the ER but glad you're current on your shots now.
I'd recommend Duluth Trading Company Firehose pants for durable abrasion resistant shop pants.

Thank you for that info,
I am going to their website right now.

at 80 summers gone, I need Skin Protection.....
25 years ago, my dad told me, whilst I was asking him why his hands were all skinned up royally.

" Son, just wait and you will see for yourself"

well, he has been gone since 1983, but his words are still valid

Asked my dad the same question 40 years ago when I was in high school and got a similar answer. Now my hands look like his. I sure do miss that old fart.
