Clean Texas truck - '85 F150 What to do?
I have a friend who had a truck given to him(he's a mechanic). It's an '85 regular cab long bed, 2WD Lariat(?) with 351(shot, I assume). He was going to use the bed for a trailer, but the truck is rust free and straight; it's interior is very rough. Was wondering if this is worth something or should we just cut it up. I've seen the rusted messes from up north and this is a true Texas truck (not coastal) that someone might be interested in. I have no interest and no idea what the overall interest in this particular model, but hated to see it get the torch. I will put in in the ads if warranted, just getting a feeler out there for it.

Sorry to say around here with out a title it would be a parts truck.
A lot depends on if he has the title and if he wants another project.
I would think he could find a cheap motor and do something with the inside and then use it or sell it.
Running and a half way good inside I would think he could use it with out needing to hook to it like a trailer or sell it pretty easy.

What is your definition of "anything "? Decent rollers I have seen here in Houston start at 1200-1500 for an honest, no frills, non structural body rust, some dings, work truck. I am always looking for a long bed for my 83; at the pull a part places a bed with only one crunch goes for about 400. If he does decide to part it, let him know I'd like to make a bid.
And if it doesn't have a title, Virginia will register and title vehicles over 25 years by mail. I've done it twice myself, and after the year of valid tags, I take the title/expired registration to the DMV and get a Texas title and tags.
