Hey guys. I really like this place. There a lot of smart people here. Nice to have some confidence!! Well anyway I was wondering you could help me out a little more. I recently asked about a computer chip for my 1998 Mazda B-3000. I am now well on my way to getting one ordred. I have JBA headers coming in as well so things are going nicely. I did notice however that while I was ordering my new toys I noticed a few other things and I wondered if there worth paying for. One of them is a throttle body spacer kit. they make it for quadrajet carbs, and 2-4 barrel carbs. I dont know whats on my truck, its stock though. But they have a claimed 20% more horsepower gain by adding a "vortex" to the intake path. Does it really do that much? Another thing I saw was a mass airflow sensor upgrade. This thing was like $330 bucks! And it had some serious stats as far as performance. Have any of you pruchased this for your truck and are you satisfied with it? Well thank you for your time.

I'm in the process of having a shop machine a spacer for my 2.3 since no one I have found seems to make one, but from everything I have researched, they improve your mid range-top end performance. They are not an amazing performance boost, but a boost none the less. Your truck is fuel injected, so you need to find a spacer specific for the year of 3.0 that you have. Sounds like you are on the right track, but I'd also suggest getting a few rolls of 2" header wrap from Summit or Jegs. Headers are more free flowing, but they also increase underhood temps. By wrapping the headers, especially before you install them, you will keep your underhood temps down, there by keeping your inlet air cool, and the longer you keep the heat in the headers, the exhaust gasses will flow out faster, since hot gas wants to expand. Good luck and let us know how things turn out.
I've had a few and it didn't do a thing. Totally overrated and a waste of money. Everybody I've known that has one took theres off in a week, no power gain.
