Hey guys, I recently recieved the Sync 4 update but I had a few questions that maybe some of you could answer for me.
1.) If you recieve the latest update do you also recieve the latest map update?
2.) I use android Auto and my spoity won't go to full screen but my google maps sonewhat will. Its a landscape layout ( I'll post pics of what I'm talking about.)
3.) My Android Auto full screen "expand" button is on the bottom Row as opposed to the Apple where it is at the top left from what I have seen.
I didn't do anything to force updates just had auto updates tuned on and wifi off. Truck was build in November of 22. Also, truck is a KR 6.7
You need to change your text color to black, that grey is hard to read.
The nav updates in the cloud, it is not loaded in SYNC4 unless you have embedded nav on limited and platinum.
Apparently I got this update a few days ago, again without my knowledge, like the google alexa update.
It also booted me out of the hot spot, and I didn't know that either, but realized my phone was only using cellular data, not my hot spot, and when I checked it it wouldn't connect, no matter what I did, and in the past it had always auto connected. Then I had to figure out the password, which I never remember having to enter before. After I did finally figure it out and got it my phone connected, then is when I checked out this update.
I had avoided android auto, it nannies you too much, can't pull up network news and get it to play while going down the road, or any other similar apps, so I had it turned off.
But, I plugged my phone in to the USB-C port and it automatically starts trying to connect to android auto, so today I decided to try it, and ran the google map on and found it now has full screen, works okay, as much as google maps works I guess. Biggest booger is that when using google maps on my phone without android auto, it shows my truck speed along side the posted speed, but not when in android auto, which sucks. Having i-heart radio on the screen is okay, and you can run it along side the google map screen or just run full screen maps.
Something I did find that I do like about android auto google maps, is that you get the satellite imagery with it.
Going to make it a lot more interesting to look at on my next trip.
I use Android auto on my XLT and one of the nice things is that when you listen to a text message is that you can reply and it will transcribe your voice to text vs the sync canned replies. The BIG downside is that it takes up the WHOLE screen and no way to shrink it or hide it. You have to close the wifi on the phone to get back to the sync screen and other options. Note: I have the smaller infotainment screen. Sync knows this is a problem.
I still can't get my truck to update. Last update was Power-Up 3.5.2 on 2/22. I did the reset process described in another thread a couple of weeks ago and it showed 3.5.3 was pending, but hasn't updated. I believe 3.5.4 is where the full screen car play comes online. I'm taking it to the dealer next week to get the heated/cooled seats on remote start SSM updated. Maybe they can force the update thru FDRS.

Do you have all the connected services turned on in your system and the wifi activated?
Think all that junk has to be on for automatic updates to download over the air.
Yes, connected to Ford Pass on my phone. I can see mileage, tire pressure, DEF levels, etc. The last message on Ford Pass was the 2/22 notice of the upgrade to 3.5.2.

I had my 450 in at the dealer two days ago for the 22E04 recall. I asked them to do the Sync 4 update and was told there wasn't an update available. Maybe you'll have better luck than me.
