Help on C4 rebuild!!!!!
I have a 79 F-150 with a bad tranny. I am going to try and rebuild it myself.I have never been deeper than the filter in a tranny.I have bought a really detailed manual with step by step photos.I am an ASE certified mec. but on brakes and suspention ,but feel pretty good about the rebuild. Just wondering if there were any little tricks of the trade that i should know ? I plan on pulling a 28 foot camper with the truck, is there any thing that i can do to beef up the C4 while i am in there? I know i should swap for C6 but havent had truck long and dont want to mess with the change over right now. Thanks for any help.

Upgrade the direct clutch to 5 plates
Modify front pump for full cooler lube flow
Use a 'H' or 'R' servo
good valvebody kit like transgo.
keep endfloat to minimum
reco convertor as well
