Holley 2b 361 ft. I have to put a little air to the gas tank to get the gas up to the carb without cranking the hell out of it. Starts & runs good - then in a day or so the bowl seems dry & no gas squirts out of the accelerator jets, Any ideas?
I would suspect the power valve is leaking and allowing the fuel to leak into the intake manifold. After a few days most of the fuel in the bowl is gone.
I had this problem on my '79 Ford with a Holley carburetor but only after it would sit for a few weeks. One time when I knew it was going to be sitting for a month or so I took the carburetor off of the engine and sat it on a piece of cardboard to check for leaks. No fuel leaked out. Somehow it was able to siphon the fuel out of the bowl over time which I would have never thought possible. I installed an inline electric pump in the back where the tank selector valve is located and it cured the hard start after sitting problem as well as a problem where it would act up on very hot days when pulling my trailer.
Could also be multiple problems.
Sticking power valve as mentioned causing the bowl to drain out.
Weak fuel pump or sticky float valve which is why you have to pressurize the tank to fill the bowl back up.
If you smell gas under the vehicle, I would look for a leak in the fuel line which could cause the pump to suck in air.
