01 5.4 f250 overheating

Truck does not leak the coolant or water I have put on it but after a few days without use it’s gone. Truck over heated added water kept over heating a couple more times. Changed thermostat same thing again but not as fast changed water pump. Still the same thing run a good 30 mins and nothing and next I know the truck is hot turn it off and in and it’s normal.

Check crossover tube for leaks, check underneath Air intake Manifold for wetness. Get a light under there to see any liquid. I replaced my Air Intake Manifold because of a coolant leak. The gasket on the right by the thermostat was toast, plastic breaks after 21 years. I had coolant pooling under the Air Intake Manifold becasue of this leak. Do you smell the coolant exiting the tailpipe? If that's the case it's a Head Gasket issue.
