stubborn intake manifold

Have you guys any suggestions (other then sympathy) on removing a very stuck intake manifold on my 460? I wrestled with it most of the day and finally stopped for a barley pop and closed up the shop. Thanks for any thoughts. Larry

Make sure all the bolts are removed from it. I know it seems amateur, but those bolts get dirty and hide in the filth.
put a padded pry bar between the timing chain cover and the thermostat housing and wiggle it up and down to break the gasket bond. Just be careful you don't brake the thermostat or the timing chain cover.

The big screwdriver I use is 3 feet long
Care and careful are your friend
The time you spend thinking about it
Gives you extra time to wick some more coolant out

This here i would triple check.
I went through this this week at work. Removing a shaker motor for a storage silo and i got the 6 top bolts loose and the 6 bottom bolts loose... except there were 7 bottom bolts. So an extra 20 minutes of fiddling with it trying to figure out why it wouldn't budge.

Thanks guys - I found that taking the evening off and waiting till morning pays dividends. Upon serious observation, and advice offered above, I found that removing most of the bolts just won't work. I found the four studs on ea corner of the manifold that had a nut on them, looked different than the bolts holding it down. Gosh, I took those out and the the piece lifted right off, no prybars, not even a screwdriver needed. Thanks again for reaching out, it's what makes the forum work. Larry
