Bumper step lights

Seen a video of one of Glass House’s trucks with a light inside the bumper step.
here’s a few pictures of it, was thinking of doing something similar, wanted to hear thoughts.

maybe a rigid industries a pod flush mount light, or Whelen maybe.
If you zoom In you can see the light inside the step.

That would be great, accentuate one of the best and more useful features on the truck in my opinion, I use them all the time and if at night that would be especially useful....I'm so glad I waited to buy the 2023 MY instead of that stale ole 22MY model.

Mount it to the top side shining down, otherwise someone will kick it out with the toe of a boot when stepping on to it.

Decent spot for angled backup lights when towing?

If it comes on with the tail lights use a red or amber light. Having a white light visible to the rear when driving can get you in trouble in many places.

I would think something like these tied into the courtesy circuit (door/mirror illumination etc) would be ideal - as jimzpsd suggested, mounted in the top of the step so it's out of sight and harm's way. All you need is a 3/4" hole and they are grommeted in place, very small.

might work for some people but if I was personally putting a light there I’d try to get something more useful like a pod light that would help me when backing up trailers in the dark etc. depending on the angle the light ended up on it could be a great spot for this.

The one you posted is just more so a sidemarker/clearance light correct?

itll be interesting to see what people start putting in there.

Yes just to light up the step. Having extra floods tied into backup circuit for sure but something big enough for that you don't want taking up the step space IMO.. Like a nice low profile, single row small flood bar right under the bumper works nice

they make flush mount lights that could easily light up when backing a trailer. Depending on what’s behind the bumper step one could easily fit in there and take up zero room for the actual step.
