OK What am I missing

I had a 98 Expy and when you folded down the seats the surface was relatively flat. On my 03 there is about a 3-5 inch gap where the seat is exposed. Is there something that is supposed to close that area ? I've had this thing since July but it's been in the shop so much I've never had a reason to put down the seat. Now I need to haul something and the leather is exposed unless you stop and lift the item across. What am I missing ?

Are you referring to the 3rd seat(s)?

I'll have ot run out and check mine in the morning. Don't think I've ever put ALL the seats down at one time...

I can not comment on the 03, but you are correct about your 98.

My 99 folds down alsmost perfectly flat (the 2nd row).

The 3rd row in the 99 is NOT setup to fold flat, but does fold foward. (everything is "above" floor level)

My biggest gripe about the second row seat! Love the fact that they fold easily and the 3rd row is electric. However, that gap between front & 2nd row is big PITA. My dog keeps falling down in it every time we stop at a red light.

No way to really fix it other than cutting a piece of plywood or some other rigid board to fit over it. Even with the front seats all the way back the gap is still there.

There's actually a very small gap between 2nd and 3rd row also. Not big enough to lose much in though.

again, I am not familiar with the 03, but on my 99 I was somewhat mistaken.

There IS a "gap" when you fold down the 2nd row, ut there is a built in "bridge" in the back of the seat that needs to be released and folded down.
Then it has to be folded back into place before returning the seats to the up position
