About to swap all 8 of my 2005 E-350 5.4 2V due a failed #6, coil shows good performance on a scanner so as an exploratory measure I'll replace just that one for now, the rest to follow as time and weather allow. Existing plugs are Ford already installed in the reman'd engine just about 67K miles ago curious what would be a good coolant temperature to do that a single quickie change.
This will be done early in the morning where the ambient temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30's, I have an Auto Meter coolant temperature gauge that begins indicating at about 100* F. I'm thinking to warm the engine to no more than 120* for this operation--wondering if that's a good idea or should I go higher or lower for this temporary fix? I will also use my torque wrench to 20 ft/lbs as well.
