I just bought a 2022 F350 Lariat CCLB four wheel drive with super low miles, 7000, from a large Hyundai dealer. I know the 4FX is 4x4 skid plates, 4X4 is what it says. There are no makings on the bed, cosmetic I know, but is there a meaning to no making? Car Fax shows no accidents one owner so I don't think its a repaired and the decals left off. What say you Ford experts?
Are you saying your truck is a FX4, but it has plain 4x4 stickers on the bed?
Skid plates alone don’t mean it’s a FX4, as they could be added as a stand-alone option. Easiest way to tell if your truck is a FX4 is to see if it has a hill decent control button on the dash above the center screen.
I took off the 4x4 sticker on the bed so I didn't have to deal with wax getting stuck around the edges. It was very easy to remove. I would take everything else off if it was that easy but the badges are attached better.
Sounds like the original owner simply removed the decals. Like ATC mentioned, looking for a Hill Descent button could tell you if it’s an FX4, however that still won’t say for sure. I added the Hill Descent button to my non-FX4 since it was so inexpensive and easy to do. The best way to tell is to look at the window sticker.

That’s the first thing I did to my 2019! Much cleaner look to me.
Ditto on this. Pulled the 4x4 stickers - 1st thing I did when I brought it home. BTW, I ordered it with the skid plates (for $100), the AT tires, swapped out the stock shocks for Bilstein 5100's @ 60 mi, and installed the hill descent button (and rearranged those buttons too). I will add hill descent via Forscan. Voila! FX4 with better shocks and without the sticker.
Thanks for all the reply's, I have the hill decent button and the normal 4 wheel buttons to shift. The build sheet shows special ordered and optional equipment 618A and a list of included in that package. I have not been under yet to see if it has skid plates or not. I was curious as I normally see the decals for FX4 or just 4X4 and didn't know what I have. Today it gets the though inspection with book in hand to see how all the "options" work. I noticed it has auto dim headlights on the way home after the first the light changed I watched closer and then found that in the manual. With all the bells and whistles I might need a pilots license.
