Question about core charge?

1993 Ford F250 351W
Alrighty, I just purchased a 1994 351W from autozone yesterday. Waiting for it to get here. However I had a question about the core charge. Does it have to be the exact same engine?

For instance the engine in my truck right now (which is now failed due to oil pressure), is a 1989 Crown Vic 351W, with 1973 D0OE heads, and a Edelbrock camshaft. Would that return suffice, or does the core have to be exact?
1993 351W had a hydraulic flat tappet cam, 1994 351W had a hydraulic roller cam.

I know for a fact that the employees at my autozone are going to have absolutely no idea about how to tell one from the other, I am more worried about trouble down the line if it gets sent off back to atk. \

I have a spare 1994 351W that for some reason, from factory, was a hydraulic flat tappet cam. I just want to know how exact does it have to be, or will any run of the mill 351W work and im just overthinking this?

I apologies for any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, I am deeply tired right now.

i appreciate any enlightenment on this topic.

This might be a question better asked at Autozone for their specific answer. When I purchased a Ford Reman'd 5.4 it was a "no fault" core policy that basically said they'd accept any 5.4 2V I returned regardless its physical condition. If the block had split or had other damage it didn't matter.

Ask Autozone as they'll know exactly---unless someone here has under gone something similar with Autozone?

Every core we've ever turned in only had to have one specific spec to get full value and that was no holes from a slung rod. If the block had a window in it the core value dropped to scrap value. I would imagine if you tried to turn in a 4 cylinder core on a v8 purchase it might raise an eyebrow or two but those places give the same core value no matter what variation of same size engine eg: I4, I6, V6, V8.

They'll figure out what exact engine it is when rebuilding and resell it as such.
