Greetings FTEs’.
I stumbled across this forum while trying to troubleshoot problems with my 89 F150.
Long story short was having trouble starting. I replaced the fuel pump in the tank. Started and ran great after that for a bit. I turned it off. Came back the next day. Filled the tank with fuel and it has not started since. I have checked the tps the egr etc with a meter. All check out as specified. I’ve killed the solenoid trying to start. I am looking to replace the fuel pump relay -have not yet purchased nor have I tested. I have not checked the inertia switch. Last check of obd1 codes indicate a pass Koeo. Can’t check engine on because won’t. Start. I will be replacing the solenoid this weekend. Possibly the relay. Will likely borrow a gauge to check fuel pressure this weekend too.
many other thoughts?
Yep. Check fuel pressure. Where did you get the new fuel pump at? It's not uncommon for fuel pumps to fail shortly after they're installed. My advice is to buy a motorcraft pump, or the most expensive one you can find.

I purchased the Fuel pump from OReillys.
I’ve been reading through some old threads with similar problems. Sounds like new fuel pump problems are pretty common. I’m going to check the pressure today to confirm.
I will definitely replace with a higher quality part.
Thanks for the reply.
