Question DEF tank removal

Has anyone removed the DEF tank without taking the bed off or by raising the bed for clearance? I would like to remove it but be able keep it in case it needs to be reinstalled. Any ides or special tricks would be appreciated.

Yes comes right out. Remove filler and I believe 4 bolts hold it up. Unplug the harness and it will come out as a unit

Just wondering, why would you want to remove it?

Makes space for the additional battery pack upgrade for the 475 Amp motor.

Several times and not once did I touch a bed bolt. If you look at it, it's a very simple setup. It comes out easier than the DPF does.

Anyone ever re-purpose one?
It would make a nice auxiliary diesel tank.

Did you ever complete this DEF Tank delete?

I deleted my 2021 F250 with about 1900miles on it after delivery from factory in 2022. It’s a garage queen as I’ve always had a company issued vehicle. Current mileage is 19.5k

I helped a buddy delete his last weekend and I’m looking at dropping the DEF tank on mine.

Looks super simple. Already popped the filler neck out and swapped with the blank bracket w/o DEF hole.

DEF line popped from the passenger side frame rail all the way back to the top of the fuel tank and unplugged the tank sensor under the DEF tank behind the access panel. Accessory ignition pops no codes.

I’m curious for anyone who’s done this, any issues with dash lights or indicators? I’ve had 0 since weight loss. She’s loaded with SPE parts and I’m trying to get confirmation that I shouldn’t see any errors or lights with the tank coming all the way out.

Thanks in advance.

*It rained this morning when I had the kids out, so excuse the dirty water spots!

Tuner confirmed this morning all good to fully remove without issues.

Just waiting for my Shibby Engineering plug set and we are good to go.

I removed mine, cleaned it out and then reinstalled it.

I like the blank cover you used. Where did you find it?

I used the same plug kit for all the connections with weight reduction.
