Does anyone know what the story is for this yellow cab step appearing on some but not all of the new 2023 super duties... is this cab step meant to be temporary and removed by the dealer once the vehicle is sold ... i wouldn't mind having it left on the truck instead of ordering factory running boards... cab steps only appear on the driver side (not passenger side)...
I wonder why doesn't Ford have a small step as an option? I hate running boards but having something like these single Bully steps available through Ford would be nice.

One word... Demand. Very little demand for something like this I'd imagine.
I would bet that a porter somewhere in the Ford "family" fell trying to get into a SD, sued Ford, and successfully asserted in court that Ford created "an unsafe work environment" and got paid a fat check.
Following that, they came out with the yellow step so Ford can argue on the next workers comp claim that they addressed the issue and provided a YELLOW step for the porters to use.
Yes, they come with the truck (dealer installed) when you have the running board delete. Keeping it there is a PITA IMO.
It was not in a comfortable position at least for me. Too far forward. My dealer let me keep it though.
