Look to see if anyone has delt with this or has some ideas because I'm stumped. I have a 1995 Ford f150 with a 5.0 and 4r70w trans. About 2 weeks ago the truck started to bog down at red lights and run rough but once I'd give it a little gas it would clear right up, this weekend I did a tune up on it plugs(gapped .054), wires, and the cap & rotor. When I timed the engine and set it to 10-12 before TDC it has no power when in drive and is missing. I've gone all over with the timing and have only gotten it to run decent up at 29-33 before TDC but pings when I give it gas in drive.... Where I'm confused at is the engine will rev up fine in park(I'm not sure about neutral). I'm sure it's a sensor but every sensor that I can think of that's related to it is around 100 bucks per, any ideas would be appreciated
1994 and up 5L engines use the 302HO/5.8L firing order (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8)
Use this to verify the OP is using the correct firing order and the plug wires are routed to prevent crossfiring.
None of that would cause the motor to require substantial amount of base timing, I expect the outer ring of the balancer has spun or the OP is using the wrong reference marks.
It does not have a reman distributor in it right? (the roll pins shear on a regular basis)
I see no reference to disconnecting the spout wire to set the base time
