Question for those of you who have installed a transfer tank in your bed.. I have a 2004 F350 Dually and am going to install a 110 gallon transfer tank in it. I will be placing it on a 1" thick horse stall pad.
Here is the question. What size bolts do you use to secure the tank to the bed.
I know I know simple stupid question but here I am.
The one in my brand X was mounted with 4 3/8 G8 bolts on each side. It was a custom made job with flanges at sides to bolt down, however I don't recall it being 110 gallons, more like 50. It was split top/bottom tool box fuel tank. I get the bed mat thing but moisture will accumulate under and the bed will start to rust. Mine was spaced up enough for air to get under. Bad is if you park under trees or haul hay a lot of crap will get underneath. Nice truck BTW
Usage will be mostly Hiway with a bit of Forest service roads.thrown in. I have a camper for the bed and a 26ft trailer for hauling my RZR and various gear. The adventure rig. Retired gotta do something. Thanks for the comment on the truck. Got it done about 3 months ago. Rebuilt engine, Paint and new shoes.
I think about 1.5 inch with self lock nuts and a flat washers. Been in there years now. Just remembered you put a pad under, I mounted right tot he bed, no pad.
