Seems like a prime opportunity for after market inserts that are body colored and plugs it if the owner doesn't want to see it. But I doubt you can delete it since it is cut into the sheet metal.
It seems a little early, most of these trucks just started being delivered a couple weeks ago. I wonder if a 2022 and earlier bumper would look OK as a replacement to the 23 step bumper. For the bed, that will be a tougher fix, probably requiring the aftermarket to come up with something.
Another option for an upgrade would be for one that is on a spring hinge, that folds up in to the opening when not in use. Use your foot to push it down in to position when needed.
After seeing all the GM trucks for several years now keeping their steps and not seeing any mods for them, I'm not seeing a likelihood that the aftermarket will all of a sudden figure out how to get rid of the Ford steps. Looks like it's something where the juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze, especially considering the sheet metal involved.
Yeah you’re probably stick with them. Maybe some of the DIY guys can print something that would work, or maybe a smaller shop could be petitioned to come up with something… maybe a bed from a previous MY would work on it. Besides, this, maybe just trade it for a previous MY Duty. That would also fix the front end too!
That side bed step is really high. Looked at one at the dealer while getting my oil and filters serviced. Don't believe it would even be possible to use for me.
I haven't really looked over pics of the 23 but is the 22 bed the same as the 23 other than the steps?
there are beds for sale everywhere
Would be quite apparent since lies wont match. Don't know which would look worse, an obvious mismatched truck or a bed step that most people wont even notice.
My buddy that is a GM guy was showing me delete kits with smooth painted replacement panels that he wanted for his truck. So I'm guessing there will be similar things available in the future for the Fords.
Anyone here anything else on a bedstep removal option? I went to get a quote to have part of the bed step painted and my bodyshop guy said he had heard of a plug/cover deal available. I can't find one online.
