Carb choke heater?

Carb choke heater?

I have a 390 with a 2barrel has elec choke found the fitting on the choke with nothing connected, looking online it shows choke heater with a plate on the manifold. I dont have that on my manifold? Can i plug that or connect somewhere else? Thanks

That was for the original thermal choke. if you have an electric choke it doesn't need anything except a 12V wire. so you can do whatever you want with the old tubes.

I think that choke is electric assist — 6V not 12V. Maybe bust out the voltmeter and check. If 6V then the heat riser is intended and can be refabbed using a Dorman kit. If 12V it’s getting plenty of power to open the choke and the heat riser not doing much more.

The power for the electric choke thermostat come off the stator connection on the back of the alternator.
