Got my door panels back today. Hung the passenger side to see what they look like. Got to say they look pretty sweet. Used the original SS trim ring (Thanks again Rich) to fancy it up and not have to worry about the stick on stuff coming loose. Matches the head liner in color pretty well. Shop found 10 yards of the original Ford material to do my 40/20/40 seat and door panels. The headliner and sun visors are out of the newer 78/79 but I sure do like the looks of them. Original door panels not painted. I cleaned off the silver on the bottom as they were over half way rubbed off anyway. Been a challenge to find the arm pads that match as the sun has faded everything at a different rate. The pictures show it as off but in person it is really close and looks great!
Waiting on the seats to get done. Tore down the seats this last weekend and sandblasted the frames and painted them up. Maybe I will have them for this weekend to install! Then on Tuesday next week getting an Access bed cover installed. Same price if they install or I carry out.
Thread Hijack! Rich, I'm responding to your P/M (turned mine off) .. I'm burned out, tired of answering the same questions over and over again. Spend most of my time on Facebook, because there are plenty of cars (Ford and otherwise) that I can answer questions about.
Mini HJ, Bill I know I personally appreciate ALL the help and knowledge you have shared over the years. And even the I have earned. Please PM me your other/alternate email address. I would like to be able to keep in touch with a fellow FTE member and veteran. HJ over.
James I am looking fwd to seeing the next step in the truck restoration.

Be carefull leaving the tape stuck on the paint holding those rubber pieces. Short term, might be ok, but the shorter the better .... long term ... it can get ugly.
Nice interior work. That upholstery material looks like the seat insert material of a 68 Mustang with deluxe interior. Always liked that. Couldn't find anyone around here to cover visors.
Yes they look fantastic! And I agree that Rich is super helpful and a blessing to have on these forums. What are the “original SS trim rings” you refer to?
Those strips around the outside of the inserts never came with a material covered insert. They only out lined the plastic and made it look like it had an insert. The last picture shows what most inserts had for a trim around them. It is plastic and peals really bad. Have heard of metal ones but I have never seen them. They are from wha I can tell not reusable. I liked the look of the pleated one but they were a different color then my seats will be so the shop customers made mine using the SS trim. I think it looks sharp and even somewhat original and will never peal. If they dull up I will just reshine then with some never dull polish.
Those are looking great! Thanks for the details. I used some of your pictures to verify my hydroboost install ( in the upside down position with the canister on the outside). It's super helpful to see.
Is the pressure from the PS pump the port nearest to the canister?
The black line is the pressure from my powers steering pump and the braided goes to the power side of the hydro-booster. The center fitting on the power steering pump is the pressure and the bottom is the return line.
I realize this thread is a couple years old, but was wondering if SS trim is available to buy somewhere? My truck has the dual strip chrome with the woodgrain in between, I'm also wondering what backing material to use to replace the original. Mine is pretty swelled up from moisture, my passenger one looks great but if I was able to buy the same chrome rings in SS I'd take that one apart aswell. Will I be able to reuse these or need something else with new backing material? 3 are broken, not by me
