tax return upgrades

Hey guys, Been a member for a long time in the 7.3 IDI group, moved up to a modern diesel last year after having a 6.2 gas CCLB. Love the 6.7 and want a little more rumble to remind me I've got that diesel. My old 1989 IDI has no DPF, no regens and no EGR, and I think that Ford should have kept them that way but here we are in 2023...lets say I want my 6.7 similar to my 7.3. new parts <---this is what I'm thinking of getting since this 6.7 is a offroad farm truck only, in mexico. Any opinions or suggestions on these parts or another option? I actually like the twin tip exhaust and want to keep it stock looking. I'll retain all parts for when I sell the truck off in 6 years.

The kit you linked to is for 2015-2016 but you have a 2018 in your sig, better make sure you get the correct year.
I've heard the 6.7 with the delete exhaust pipe & they do sound pretty good.

Similar item listing, but yes 2018 is what i need. They sound very good, just need some first hand experience on that brand. I don't plan to run on high HP tunes, its got enough power as is.

I bet you get the parts and the tuner but no delete tune to make the delete work and certainly no customer support if something happens. Tunes have moved out of the country or underground. Good luck to you, you will need it, deleting a modern diesel is going extinct like the dodo bird.

The EPA doesn't care if you are using it as a farm truck, off-road vehicle, race car, on or off road. They consider any engine that is modified from it's original factory condition to be illegal and will hunt down the shops and tuners that modify them. Actually the EPA wants to delete your diesel engine entirely and install a battery and an electric motor.

My biggest concern about this would be the tuning for two reasons. First, the original H&S Mini Maxx only supported 11-14 Powerstroke. According to the forums, this most likely is a hacked Bully Dog device or some other knockoff device. Not exactly the most confidence inspiring. Second, H&S got hit by the EPA should there's no support for the Mini Maxx.

If you're selling the truck 6 years later, a safer and cheaper option would be to go with a SCT device with a single tune from a "Proven" tuner. One of the diesel shops I purchased from before has a SCT tuner with a single file and a deleto pipe (which allows you to run the factory twin tip) for $849. Add on a Flo Pro EGR kit for $168 and you're good to go.

Thats some good info!! It's very hard to get straight info on this topic with EPA cracking down. Luckily where I live the inspection is minimal and doesn't require me to plug the truck in. Would you mind PMing me so further info isnt public?

Hey I tried to PM but I got a message saying "IDI Diesel has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

If you're getting a refund, you need to reevaluate your deductions and witholdings. You've given the government a free loan of your own money. You'd be better served by paying less in withholdings, and then paying the government whatever your tax burden is when its due, instead of letting them keep your money interest free. That money could have been in your pocket (or in an investment earning interest) over the course of the year.

Totally agree. THis was the first year putting my child in daycare so that changed the return a bunch and also logged off my 30 acres which was additional income. Past years I had to pay in.

What is this Refund you speak of? I've had to pay every April for as long as I can remember. Hence i do my taxes as late as possible with out a penalty.

What he ^^ said. I thought this year I could finally see a small refund or a very tiny payment. Nope. My daughter turned 17 last year. Boom goes 2K write off. The little B** owes me $1500. JK but I do need to change my W4 now. All this time I thought cut off was 18, now it's 17.

Refund? What's a refund? Pay quarterly estimates and still pay in. The joys of self employment.
