please help a rookie
can anyone tell me if the REAR main bearing is a pressed fit or do i have the wrong bearings? The last main bearing seems to be to narrow to slip down into place but just by a hair or two. The cap side bearing is the same way. hope this made sense and that someone can help. By the way this is on an 88 460 block.

I'm familiar with '68-78, but wouldn't think there would be much difference, and no press fit. First thing I'd do is exchange the bearings in case you got a dud. If not, can you lightly tap them into place? If so, torque the caps down on plastigage and see what clearance you have. The crank should spin freely without a lot of effort.
