Tough Guard Availability

For some reason, I'm thinking a little while ago that some things were holding back builds on some trucks ordered due to availability. I thought the Tough Guard bedliner was one of those things.

Is there any truth to this today? I'd rather get the Tough Guard from Ford but if it holds up production, I'll just go with a local company I've used before.

Skip the Ford bedliner and go Linex, much better quality and cheaper (assuming you go black). O yeah and LineX has a lifetime warranty as long as you own the truck.

Being that it's one extra step off of the assembly line there is a chance it could cause a delay. That could be a day, a few days. I haven't heard of it being a serious constraint at the moment. Yes there was a time when it held things up, and Ford even added the ability to delete it from certain packages that otherwise included the liner. I'm not aware of that being the case currently.

Getting it after delivery is not a bad option. The only thing you really miss out on is the "Ford" plaque on the bulkhead. Cost is comparable, sometimes cheaper from the aftermarket, and warranty is sometimes better aftermarket. Downside would be dropping the truck off and being without for about 3 hours.

I'm sure adding the Ford bedliner adds more than 3 hours to your build though. And if you can't be without a truck a lot of dealers work with local liner companies and will have it done before you pick up your truck anyway. Or at least they did that for MY22, I don't see why that would change for MY23.

I have decided to remove the Tough Guard from my order. I've already contacted the guys who installed all my previous bedliners and they're ready whenever I am.
