So, this has me kinda stumped on my 2022 F-350 I received the 270/70/18's so after putting my first 500 miles on the truck I noticed that not having mud flaps is an issue and that the truck gets dirty very easily than looking closer at the tire and it's
clearance to the end of the fender are already at their max. So the question is is a 270 really the widest tire we can run without just slinging every bit of sand and dirt at our paint and body or are there wheels that allow for some wider tires that do not require the addition of fender flares ?????
Imo the only way to keep mud and road grime off the body is with mud flaps. I’ve never had mud flaps on a truck and don’t think I ever would. I put Rokblokz on this one and love them. Never get mud / road grime on the body or running boards.
I modified the flaps to not stick out so far and fit more to my liking and most of all - have ZERO paint contact. Pics / description in the link
I have the Goodyear 275/70-18 tires and the OEM mud flaps. I don't notice any slinging from the tires unless I'm turning in nasty stuff on the road. I get some crud flung up from the rear tires onto the front of my RV trailer.
Here is a sample of the Husky front and rear mud flaps which do a fair job of keeping the big clumps off the side of the truck but you will still get "splash" but I don’t diddle daddle off road so if you drove like a grandpa you might get less "splash". You'll notice that with the 275/ 70r18 that mud will get on the edge of the wheel well lip.
