Correct idle??
Did the; plugs, wires, fuel filter, distrubtor cap, PCV valve, new TFI coil; Now when I first start it idles fast to about 1400 or 1500rpm drops to 1000 then quickly to 800; I always noticed before I did the above mentioned maintenance that it idled at 5-600. FYI: This was the first change of plugs, etc for about 50,000.

That's actually what it is supposed to do.
When you first start up your truck it goes into what is called "warm-up mode" the trucks computer raises the idle to help in warming teh engine faster. It will do this until the engine reaches a good temp. It usually takes 2-3 minutes, Depending how cold it is.
You can always stop the Warm-up mode by simply tapping teh gas. I always let mine go through as it is better for the engine!!
