Transmission????????
I have a 86 F150 4x4 automatic overdrive transmission. When i get up to about 45-55 mph i get a vibration, feels like under the seat.I checked the U joints,tranmission mount all seem to be ok.but when i twist the driveshaft there is play in it sounds like chain in tranfer case.i also have side to side play in the shaft going into transmission(not much).is all of this normal?Is it time for a rebuild? Any advice would be appreciated. Dwight OH! transmission has 220,000 miles on it. Thanks

The chain slack is not good but I think the vibs is from a worn bushing in the tail of the tcase where the slip shaft goes into... A rebuild of the tcase is the extreme fix but would fix both. I think you have to split the tcase to put in a bushing.
