I have a 1995 E-150 High top conversion van. I am looking into purchasing a trailer for Kart racing. My van has a factory towing package, 351 V8, automatic with O/D, AirLift in the front. I believe, the vehicle, a half tank of gas and myself in it came to about 5840lbs. We normally travel as 2 adults and 2 children. Can anyone tell me what the total combined weight should be?
Although my cargo weight will be between 2000 and 2500 lbs, I am looking at 2 Haulmark trailers. A 6x12 single axle with no breaks that has a dry weight of 1280lbs, max weight of 2990lbs and a hitch weight of 180lbs. Or the 7x14 tandem axles with electronic breaks, a dry weight of 1760lbs, max weight of 7000lbs, and a hitch weight of 240lbs.
Most, if not all of our trailering will be on the east coast with a few trips to the mid west.
