Hi, My first post as a new member so hope you guys can advise.
My pickup is a 1949 F1 Custom....SBF302, C4 etc.
I will be fitting an aluminium radiator and would like some advice on how tall the rad can be.
I've seen pics on some of the hot rod sites of F1's with taller than stock rads, would i have to remove / modify the strengthening panel that is fitted to the underside of the hood ?
Is it safe to remove / modify this panel without causing damage / flexing to the hood ?
Just order a radiator that will fit your application 49 F1 (302sb w/C4).... no need to modify the upper hood panel. I got the same setup, got my radiator from US radiator, Fit perfect.
What Moe said.^^ No point in reinventing the wheel or making more work for yourself. There's plenty of other areas of these projects that need the help.
