I have 2017 F350. I have a weird clink I can feel in my gas pedal sometimes while turning, but almost always while hitting bumps. Just had the truck at the dealer for a couple recalls and had them check the front suspension for any issues. They felt when I was talking about on the road test, but couldn’t find anything wrong. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
Had the same in my '18, it was the bottom shock bolt coming loose. It ended up elongating the hole for the bolt before I chased it down. I bought some weld-washers and used them to fix it. I forget what the torque spec is, but it's a lot for that one....
Also look at the body bushings. They used to be made from a cheap foam and a necessary replacement within a few years of age. When one is missing or damaged, the body can slam against the frame during deep turns or hitting potholes.
Checked all the suggestions. Didn’t find anything. Also hard the dealer replace the steering stabilizer under the recall. They also had both of there master suspension techs look over the front end and couldn’t find anything.
i have the same clunk/click feeling/sensation in the steering wheel and gas pedal.
Foot resting lightly on the pedal its very noticeable. Not as bad at higher speeds. Did it at 2,000miles and has never stopped. Got 100K on it now. Just never tackled the job.
you can verify its that steering shaft and firewall pass thru bushing by sitting in the truck while its turned off and resting foot on pedal. Then grabbed the bottom & top of the steering wheel and tug with bottom hand and push with top hand at same time. Should make that shaft move enough to feel it in the pedal.
wow that didnt sound good. All that tuggin & pushin. 😆
i would suggest having that intermediate steering shaft and the pass thru bushing both replaced. Will solve your problem.
Thank you everyone for the input and suggestions. I found the issue. It was the mounting plate at the firewall where the upper steering shaft goes through. Thanks to the last couple reply’s on here! Even after having a good friend of mine who’s a master tech at a local dealer look at it. Along with the head diesel tech that is also one of the certified suspension techs, they couldn’t find anything. I replaced the upper shaft and mounting plate today. And no more issue!
