Crawled under the truck just to look things over and saw quite a bit of grease on the passenger side tie rod end. I'm certainly not a suspension expert, but I'm pretty sure this boot is toast? Just want to be certain before I call in the warranty work.
For it's age, that truck has an awful lot of corrosion and, as said above, that rubber should last a lot longer than a few years.
History of the vehicle ?

It's mostly in Oklahoma where we get a little ice and snow every winter, but nothing huge. It doesn't fit in the garage so it sits out in the weather though. We also take it up to Wyoming where we do a bit of off roading through wet / muddy areas. And over to a number of camp grounds between here and Texas. I definitely don't mistreat it, but I also don't treat it like a princess.
I would also be looking at that u-joint in the first picture. Looks like an awful lot of grease built up on it, which means it probably isn't in the joint anymore....
Yeah I would say that all looks pretty rough for a 22k mile truck. Mine has 55k a year newer and lives inside but I work it pretty good. Looks a lot better than that, no leaky boots, no rust, no u-joint build up....

I greased the u-joints at 20k, so just a few thousand miles ago. I had to pump quite a bit in and saw very little OEM grease come out. I was surprised how little there was.
