LED headlight bulb pattern really bad

I bought this truck used. Previous owner had put in some LED bulbs that his mechanic had recommended, the mechanic put them in, but he doesn’t remember what brand they are. Anyways, the beam pattern and alignment are just really super bad. They appear to be clocked in the correct position with the LED parts pointing at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. I can’t figure out why, has anyone replace theirs with LED bulbs in it had been pattern problems?

for one thing when I switch from high to low, it doesn’t really make any difference, the pictures below are just from approximately 15 feet away at my house and then I backed up like 10 feet and took another picture. But while driving on the road though there’s just a huge dark spot right in the middle. I have tried adjusting the beams upwards, but it did not seem to help too much

I'd double check the orientation. Many of us here have replaced halogens with LED with good results. Make double sure they are adjusted properly so as not to blind oncoming traffic. I once had a brand new Super Duty come off the lot with the headlights adjusted as high as they could go.
If the adjustments check out the previous owner might have put in poor quality bulbs. It happens. I put an entire LED assembly in my motorcycle from a reputable brand. Low beams are great, high beam widely scattered and sucks.
Here's a video from Headlight Revolution on proper adjustment -

I have watched numerous videos at this point, the gentleman I bought it from. He said that he had the headlights adjusted for pulling a trailer, in other words, when he had his fifth wheel attached The weight on the back made of the truck more level.
So I readjusted the headlights so that they were aimed more up, maybe I didn’t do it enough.

anyways, it seems like the LEDs at headlight revolution, or Morimoto, damn, they’re expensive for four of them for the headlights,

I guess my next step is to dig into the front end and see what brand they are, and make sure that they were installed correctly, I’m beginning to wonder if maybe they’re too short or too long, I mean as far as sticking into the reflector housing

HR is expensive to be sure. Morimoto probably has as many or more detractors as people who are OK with them from what I've seen on this forum.
Several years ago I started out with Beamtech LED in a new 2017 Super Duty. Not expensive and I was happy with the result. After a few years I went with Hikari. More money but I like the pattern better and have been happy with them.
Many guys here are perfectly happy with factory halogens or a good brand replacement halogen. It's all pretty subjective.

A while back a company named Auxito was offering free led lamps in exchange for reviews. I took them up on the offer and they sent me two headlight bulbs.

The difference was night and day, didn't realize how yellow halogens lamps are. I left a review and asked them for two more lamps since my truck has four and they agreed if I would write another review.

After installing the add'l two I can see much better at night, the difference is amazing AND no one is flashing me to turn off my brights. I then bought two fog lamp LED's. The really nice feature of the Auxito's is the ability to clock the lamp. IIRC my are oriented at 12 and 6 and the beam pattern is perfect.

Maybe OP's lamps are clocked wrong? You could swap them for Auxito's

Beam pattern issues have always plagued LED replacement bulbs in headlight housings designed for incandescent bulbs.

If this is true it would be the first I've ever heard of that. Having put LED headlight bulbs into 4 OEM halogen Super Duty trucks it's always been 3 and 9 o'clock.

If you want more light from the halogen light fixtures. Why don’t you just put some high output halogen bulbs in?

I tried several higher end LEDs in my '18 F350. They all threw a horrible beam pattern. I went with Beamtech and the pattern is perfect. My take is, Beamtech is more of a shorter bulb, it keeps the bulb closer to the back of the reflector so the pattern is tighter.

Played that game. Went and spent something like $65/set for the "brightest" ones they made.

Made absolutely NO difference.

Yeah yeah yeah, you hate LEDs. Boo hoo.

Plopped a set of Auxautos in and viola, no more yellow light, and more of it.

Had good luck with Beamtech in my 17. I'd run either, but I will admit the Beamtechs were brighter and I did get flashed occasionally with those ones. Notsomuch with the 22.

And add to the complaint about about high output halogens, they don't last. Its even stated on the packaging. I replaced the pitiful halogens on my old, inherited Buick Lacrosse 2.5 years ago. High output Silverstars in the low beams and Auxito LEDs in the high beams. Lost one of the low beams this week...replacing it this morning with a pair of Auxito LEDs.

It’s not the LED’s I hate, it’s the people that put them in! Lol

I'll have to look for one. It's sitting in the corner of the garage, covered with blankets...with some dirt bike riding gear resting on top of that...
