I have a question to ask all of you. I have been using Fram filters for years but I see nothing but negative remarks from everyone. What do you think of K&N oil filters? I just bought one instead of the Frams that seem to be everywhere.
1995 XLT 351W Traction loc. front and back custom duals and Arizona rust free!
I have never had any bad issues from using fram filters, I use there air and oil filters. I use fram cause my father used them and he never ran into any problems whatsoever.
ouch, well While I pull my boot out of my mouth.
That ssome good info.
Like I said, never had problems, yet with fram, but they used to quality filters. I think im gonna try wix next oil change, then maybe ac delco. I'll see which one I like best.
guess its a good thing i have been using motorcraft filters all these years huh. better stop buying that fram job for my g/f's hyundai .. god knows it needs all the help it can get.

I guess noone sent him a filter to "analyse." I have been eyeballing K&N oil filters but they are 9.99 at Kragen and 12.99 at the zone so I'm leaning towards Motorcraft, which will be o.k. for my Bronco and F250 but will look hilarious on my Rodeo!!
Too bad Fram as wussed out! Think of all the people who are buying them based on the name.
Thanks for the links Sudsrat, they showed exactly why Fram sucks. I put my K&N oil filter on and am not all that impressed. The gasket seems stiffer than normal and I noticed oil dripping off the front diff. even after cleaning the area under the filter and tightening it with the filter wrench which I normally never do. I think I'll stick with Motorcraft or Napa.
I don't have any issues with them either, I looked a little closer and found that my power steering pump was what the oil came from, not my K&N oil filter!
Stick with Motorcraft filter. Cheaper than the FRAM filters at Wal Mart and way better. I switched after the second oil change I did from FRAM to Motorcraft. Also, started using Chevron Supreme which is a Syn Blend which is cheaper than most Dino oil from Wal Mart.
one of the best filters is WIX. If you took a fram, motorcraft apart you would notice the difference. It the pressure valve that force the oil up into the motor quicker for cold starts
